So we go back to

So we go back to Mew/Eric’s friend Joe’s house. Joe is some kind of computer programmer and has a house a couple of blocks away from the beach. And what a house it is. It was originally a 3-bedroom house, but once he bought it, he added extra two floors to it. So above the living room on the second floor is an extra bedroom and a playroom for the kids and a playroom for the adults. And then on the roof is the Jacuzzi. It was a sweet house; I was very impressed.
So we stayed they for a couple of hours just chilling and stuff. It was nice, but I was expecting us to go out dancing or something. Anyway, we left at midnight and headed home since we all were flying out the next day (Mew was flying out to Denver a couple of hours after us.) While we were driving home, we passed this Hassidic Jew looking guy in a SUV. So I roll my window down and get him to roll down his window to tell him about the FDM. Mew yells at us and tell us not to talk to “the yeti” next to us. Well, that started the whole yeti joke that ran all night long. We got the O.G. original yeti, sista yeti (Hey!), sexymotherfucker yeti, grumpy yeti, Scandinavian yeti, and the blue, underwater yeti. That last yeti happened to be The Chad, who we called at 2am to let him know of his status. That’s what you get for feeding the kids sugar before they goto sleep.
So Sunday, we wake up and pack up and head out to the airport. We are at the airport for awhile when this guy comes with his ugly ass dog, Cessel. I mean, this mutt was UGLY…but of course all the women in the terminal thought that Cessel was the cutest thing ever. And when he started to drag his face on the carpet, well, that confirmed his cuteness.
And to top off the weekend, we met Ricki Lake and her family at the airport. She has some cute kids, Milo and Owen. Man, I should have took a picture of her kids and the dog, it would have been a good picture. And Ricki looked pretty good in person. She was kinda cautious, but friendly.
That was pretty much the trip. It reads badly, partly cause I think that I am just tired and sore from yesterday. And I still need to talk about FDM. **sigh** It’s been a blah day at work. Just a blah day in general.

So I took Friday

So I took Friday entirely off so I could lounge around, finish my applications, and wait for Amber to show up. Did all of that and still managed to pack for the trip. Amber showed up around 2pm and we went over to Stonestowne to drop off my application for Borders and to have lunch at Boudin. Later we stopped at The Limited so Amber could do some shopping. I am so glad that I am not the only one that is going through shopping withdrawals (although we stopped at Nordstrom’s on our way out and there was a leather jacket that was calling to me).
It was after 4pm by then, so we got Mike to take us to Daly City BART station and we headed to The Embarcadero station to meet Amanda, and our timing at the station was perfect. Just as we were coming up to call Amanda; we saw her walking into the station with a beautiful bouquet of flowers for Mew. So we all boarded BART and headed to Oakland to catch our flight.
We breezed through the security checks and had about an hour wait for our flight. During that time, we got so many compliments about the flower arangement. And the scent of these flowers was so strong; at least 20×20 around us you could smell them. I love being at airports just to watch people. I think that I could spend the day at the airport, just looking at, listening to, and writing about all of the people that would pass me. I had kind of planned on doing something like that before 9/11, but now I’m sure that if I did something like that, security would come to take me away.
So we flew to So Cal on Jet Blue. OMG, Jet Blue is my new favorite airlines. First of all, none of that cow herding that you have to do when you fly Southwest; Assigned seats baby. They load the plane starting from the middle outward, and they load from the front and the back. So simple, yet so smart. The seats are leather and there is leg room so your legs don’t get cramped. But the best thing by far; DirecTV in every seat; Oh yeah baby. Granted there are only 24 channels, but still. The only thing that sucked on the flight is that I had to keep my window closed, so I couldn’t take pictures like I had wanted too.
So we land at the Long Beach Airport at 9:30ish. Through the window in front of me I got a glimpse of all the ships out in the harbour backed up cause of the strike two weeks ago. I wish I could have gotten a picture of it, has it was a sight to see. Anyway, the Long Beach Airport is like in the middle of the city I guess. This airport is OLD. Talking about going down the stairs and walking to the terminal. And the baggage claim area, once the entire luggage is unloaded off the plane, the conveyor belt just stops. Old School.
So Mew and her boyfriend Eric show up and we head out straight to the Oktoberfest festival. Mew got all of us some passes, but they had expired at 8pm, so we were going to try to use the “It’s Mew’s Birthday” plan to get in free. Well, after going to the wrong mall, we got to the place (We could tell by the picture of the giant breasts of the German beer girl) and there is a line that is longer than some of the lines at Disneyland. AND IT IS NOT MOVING. The bouncer at the gate said that it was a 20 min line, but I highly doubt that we would have got inside in 20min. So we decided to leave and to goto Huntington Beach to go bar hopping.
So we get to Huntington Beach and we clean up a bit and go bar hopping to get Mew her free birthday drinks. So many things happened on this bar hop. Somehow a bra came off and it fell down to the street (we were at a bar on the 2nd floor balcony). So young kid, maybe 14-16, tried to throw it up, but couldn’t do it. Eventually, Andy, this guy from Canada, was able to throw it back up to us. He later came up with his group and we talked for awhile. Their was this guy named Jason who claimed that he was a stripper. But he chickened out when we tried to get him to dance and strip for Mew for her birthday. Later, when we left that club, we met the kid that couldn’t throw the bra up to us and ended up giving the bra to him. Has we left, he had a girl on his lap and two other girls hanging on to him. Oh yeah, we def. helped him get laid that night. There is one more story that I have to share, but it’s going to require its’ own entry.
So we left the beach and headed to Mew’s house for the night. Mew and Eric went up to finish celebrating her birthday, while Amber, Amanda and I stayed up talking. The next day we kinda woke up late and just lounged in the morning, which was good. I wasn’t hung over or anything, but it felt good just to lay in bed and just be leisurely. We eventually got showered and dressed and headed to Mew and Eric’s friend Joe’s house. When we got there, we found out that Joe was leaving and he told us to make ourselves at home. Amanda and I find a Playstation and Jeopardy and are hooked. After awhile, we decide that we are hungry, so our group goes to this seafood place to get some food and we head out to the beach to eat it. While at the beach, Amber decides to be Ms. Dolittle and starts to feed the birds. The rest of us hastily shove the rest of the food down our throats and get away from Amber and her small mob of birds.
So it’s about 5pm and I want to watch the game, so we start looking for a bar to goto. Being proud of the fact that I am from S.F., I naturally have on my 49er’s cap on and my Barry Bonds jersey. So most of the bars are full and are not letting anyone in, and I’m sure that what I was wearing wasn’t helping. In one of the bar, this drunken ass blocked my way into the bar for like 30 sec. And once we got in, OMG the looks. I knew that if we stayed, I would probably be fighting my way out. I think that everybody else in the group realized this too, cause they ussered me out before a riot could start. So we goto this bar called The Stag, which was perfect. The bartender was cool, their wasn’t that many people, and the Angels fans here were pretty cool. The bartender hooked us up with refill of drinks. I am glad that I didn’t have that much money, or I would have gotten wasted there. So we played a couple games of pool and other things and watched the game for awhile, before we headed back to Joe’s house.

Man, what a good work

Man, what a good work out! I was really trying to aviod not walking up to the gym to work out, cause it was cold and I was feeling tired. However, I am so glad that I changed my mind and went. The gym was practically empty; just one other person. And I really pushed myself and burned some calories.
Well, it’s been awhile since I have done this online journal thing…O.K. I guess the time frame depends on which journal I am posting this too. The trip to SoCal was great; something that I really needed to get myself refocused and recharged. The trip didn’t go down like the way that I imagined it would. However, there were some really good things that came out of it.
Anyway, I stink. So first I will take a shower and have some dessert; well, I’ll think about it. I’m craving my nightly bowl of cereal, but I might just pass on it tonight. And then later, I’ll post the story of the trip. We’re talking first class planerides, underwear flying, getting drunk, almost starting a riot, helping underage kids get laid, reinacting Alfred Hitchcock, corrupting mechanical toys, calling yetis at 2am in the morning, meeting television stars, and starting a revolution. Do you think I could make all of this up?
One more thing….Free Dance Revolution baby!

tygreyes, Greetings from LiveJournal! First

tygreyes,
Greetings from LiveJournal!
First off, we want to thank you for being a member. We also want to
let you know that your paid membership expires on 2002-11-08.
You can renew any time: new time you purchase simply extends your
membership, so you don’t “lose” your current remaining time. You can
renew your membership immediately by visiting LiveJournal’s online
payment site at http://www.livejournal.com/paidaccounts
While there are a lot of nice LiveJournal features available only to
members that make membership worthwhile (with more “members only”
features in the works…), we think the biggest reason to renew your
membership is because you are helping to support a community that you
care about and that puts its users first.
LiveJournal prides itself on being supported and developed by the
people who use it. We are run primarily by dedicated volunteers from
around the world. We don’t want the uglier, more commercial aspects
of the Internet to intrude on things as personal as someone’s
journal. That’s why LiveJournal is banner free! That is also why we
release our software as open source. We still have to pay the bills,
however. If you want LiveJournal to be there for you, please be there
for us. We rely on our member’s support to keep us going.
As an example of how expensive it can be to run LiveJournal, there
are over 30 servers powering LiveJournal. LiveJournal also pays
thousands of dollars a month just to co-locate the servers and
pay for network access. We also regularly purchase new hardware to
improve the site’s performance and to keep up with growth.
Please take the time to visit http://www.livejournal.com/paidaccounts/
and renew your membership. There are membership levels as inexpensive
as $5 for two months, all the way up to $25 for a yearly membership.
As always, the membership dollars go to paying the day-to-day expenses
of running LiveJournal.
Finally, LiveJournal is in the best position ever to offer you everything
you could hope for! Faster service, new features, and perhaps the best
online community in the world!
We hope you realize that a LiveJournal membership is something
worth having and that LiveJournal is a cause worth supporting, but
if you’re not entirely convinced, we’d like to hear from you and find
out what it would take to convince you to renew your membership.
Please feel free to email me us at webmaster@livejournal.com and
one of the team will get back to you.
Many thanks,
LiveJournal crew
