.no creativity

mom was right, I don’t have a creative bone in my body 🙁

[Listening to: National Anthem [Acapella] – LeAnn Rimes – You Light Up My Life: Inspirational Songs (01:59)]

Friday Five for August 22, 2003

1. When was the last time you laughed?
While I have had a few chuckles, I think the last good laugh that I had was while watching Coupling on BBC America while at my parent’s house. It was just a really good and funny episode.

2. Who was the last person you had an argument with?
Think that would have to be with my mom, again on vacation. We got into an argument over my brother.

3. Who was the last person you emailed? Checking the records, that would have to be Amy, who I emailed some web links to a topic of conversation that we had at Baker’s Square.

4. When was the last time you bathed? About 2.5 hours ago. Took a 5 min shower. Last time I took a bath that I recall was New Year’s Eve after getting back from my horrific Greyhound trip. However, I’m sure I have taken a bath sometime since then.

5. What was the last thing you ate? Snicker Ice Cream; had a couple of spoonfuls of ice cream. Good ice cream, however somewhat sweet.

.what I want

I want to win the lottery.
I want a PS2.
I want to win the lottery.
I want some pie.
I want a new body.
I want a quieter computer.
I want world peace.
I want Carrottop to die.
I want my parents to be healthy.
I want the new BT CD.

But what I want most of all
Is you to see me
And have a smile on your face
And not a look of distrust.

[Listening to: Save Me – Dave Matthews – Some Devil (04:41)]

.and the healing begins

Got my computer back from the IS department. It looks like they just reformatted the hard drive. Unfortunately, I had to reinstall everything and download all of the Windows patches. This fun exercise took most of the day to do. And hour of that was spent trying to connect to the internet before I figured out that they
never installed the drivers for the NIC card. Well, almost everything is installed. The only thing missing is PCAnywhere, which someone from IS will have to come out and install next week, I suppose.

I have piles of stuff that are ready to go into my suitcase, but have yet to actually pack
anything. I have a load of laundry that I am waiting for before I start. Not sure if I am going to bring the MP3 player with me. If I was going to do it, I would have to start uploading songs on to it now and leave the computer on all night. And it still wouldn’t be
guaranteed that everything would be uploaded by time I woke up tomorrow.

Bringing about 6 library books with me, along with my journal and my book of questions. Not that I need to bring any books up, since most of my book collection is up in Washington. Was also thinking about
bringing up the scanner to scan photos again. But that would be so much trouble at the airport. Will just bring an album down with me when I come back.

Still need to email the links for my bills so that I can pay them while I am up there. Damn,
forgot that my dad got rid of the cable connection. **sigh** dial up…NNNNNNNOOOOOO!!!!!! Think that I had better bring more books. Wonder if mom has
anything social planned or if it just going to be relaxing at home?

**sigh** Still worried about leaving work for 4 days. I know that Tim and the guys can handle it, but still Just going to have to force myself not to call the warehouse every day. Might as well add on checking my mail or going online too, which will probably be a good break.

O.K. I should pack and finish cleaning….

.public service announcement

Because I know that ya’ll worry about me for some weird reason:

If I not online at all (Not that I am online alot anyway), or if it seems that I am not returning your emails or phone calls, it is most likely that I am busy at work since Fall Semester is about to begin at SF State. Yes, I have graduated from school, but since I work at the college bookstore, I am still on a
semester schedule. So don’t worry about me being depressed or plotting to kill myself. Trust me, I will be too busy working to be too depressed and if I plan on killing anyone, it will probably be some poor S/R peon that doesn’t move fast enough with the unloading of the van. If I’m lucky, it will be some customer that gets in my way…scratch that. I forgot that we are suppose to be
emphasizing customer service this year, so I guess that excludes killing customers. **sigh** Will have to find another way to relieve the stress of back to school.

.nap time

**yawn** Waking up from a small nap, which is not good cause I am just going to stay up all night. One more day of work before vacation time.

In a rarity, I was listening to Alice 97.3 this morning, and they had some comedian that I guess competed on some show on Comedy Central. He was O.K., but his best joke was this one about the semicolon; which I am so guilty of overusing. I thought it was so true and funny.

Listened to the new Dave Matthews song, Gravedigger, last night and on the way to work this morning. It’s a very dark song to me; like I wanted to slit my wrists or something. Still, I think it’s probably a better song played live than recorded and personally I
think that Save Me and So Damn Lucky are better songs. I guess I’ll see how good the rest of the CD is when it comes out next month.

Also waiting for the new Fiona Apple CD to come out.

Have decided to take a break from the library for awhile, esp. in regards to checking out music. I have an extensive collection that will keep me busy for the near future.

Have so much to do at work before I leave on Thursday. However, instead of staying late trying to get it done, I went over to Peter’s to play some Madden 2004. God, I haven’t played a football game in ages. I did score a touchdown, but it was more luck and button mashing than skill.

Something that I’m not looking forward to on this trip, namely my hair and my face. The hair is no problem, cause I am having Eric cut it for me. The face is another matter, because it has been more oily than usual and I am breaking out. Mom is going to have a field day cleaning my face. 😛

.moonlight stroll

The moon is finally rising about the trees in the back yard so I can see it. I have a better view of it if I go out to the front yard.

**sigh** It is a perfect night for a moonlit stroll on the beach. The moon is bright, the weather is nice, the air is perfect.

However, moonlit strolls on the beach are def. a two person operation.

[Listening to: Only You – The Platters – The Platters’ Greatest Hits (02:48)]

.Monday Virus

Guess who’s computer go infected with the new worm that is going around. The thing is that I could have prevented it, but was told to disable the Windows Update because one of the update’s interfered with another program. And I don’t need any Mac users telling me that this wouldn’t happen on a Mac. Mac’s aren’t all perfect either; The iMac’s at the warehouse are crashing all the time. Like I said, I know that I’m going to get flack from the store’s webmaster, who is the a big Mac/Linux guy. It’ll be a fun manager’s meeting.

After work, I stopped by the Pacifica Library and signed up for a card for the San Mateo district. Book selection was low, but their CD collection was quite large. And you can check out 18 CD’s at a time. I see continued growth in my CD collection for the near future. However, I am
voluntarily banning myself from the library until I finish some of the books that I have checked out. Will probably take some of them on my trip this
Thursday; hopefully I won’t forget any of them.

Tried some Pepsi Vanilla today; nothing mind blowing about it. Sweeter than regular Pepsi, but not as sweet as Pepsi Blue. I think that I like Vanilla Coke’s taste-linke-rum-&-Coke flavor better.

Tonight is suppose to be a real good viewing of the full moon. I’m hoping that the clouds won’t be too thick to see anything. I have a decent view from my window, so the show so be great.

Grrrr. Still pissed about that worm/virus. There has been only one other time that I have gotten a virus that totaled a computer system of mine. Grrrr I say.

Tonight, I should be reading, but I have a feeling that I will sneak in some GTA time. I know, bad Joe…

[Listening to: No Valentines – Elton John – Love Songs [1996] (04:11)]

.worksheets and spreadsheets

Damn, I hate when I prove myself wrong.

I have been overscheduling the guys; actually just Peter. Everybody else’s hours have gone down. Good thing Brian is gone tomorrow, so I can
reduce the Fall Rush/semester schedule and turn it in to him and John. Well, just another thing I need to improve on for my review.

Damn, I hate being in charge sometimes.
