Slow Monday morning…

Stupid Computer Tricks!!! Click here.
I love stoies and pictures from computer service techs. The things that people do to their computers.
Also there is this story about Valentine’s Day. Uh…go jogging for Valentine’s Day?
Anyway, work is slow right now, but I know it will pick up by the end of the day.

Horoscopes for the day….

Your dreamy appearance will have a few people convinced that you are the right person for the project. Pulling off the job may be a hundred times more difficult than pulling off the interview, but congratulate yourself on getting this far.
and from the phone…
You’re locked into a promise and there’s no easy exit. You need more room to move.
The phone one would explain why I got no sleep last night. Anyway, I need to take a shower and get out of here. Work should be able to take my mind of off some of the thoughts running in my head.

Super Bowl Commercials….

Nothing too special about the commercials this year. The one I really liked was the Hot Jobs commercial because of the song that they sung:
Why are there so many songs about rainbows
And what’s on the other side?
Rainbows are visions, but only illusions,
And rainbows have nothing to hide.
So we’ve been told and some choose to believe it
I know they’re wrong, wait and see.
Someday we’ll find it, the rainbow connection,
The lovers, the dreamers and me.
Who said that every wish would be heard and answered
When wished on the morning star?
Somebody thought of that, and someone believed it,
And look what it’s done so far.
What’s so amazing that keeps us stargazing
And what do we think we might see?
Someday we’ll find it, the rainbow connection,
The lovers, the dreamers, and me.
All of us under its spell,
We know that it’s probably magic…
… Have you been half asleep? And have you heard voices?
I’ve heard them calling my name.
… Is this the sweet sound that calls the young sailors?
The voice might be one and the same
I’ve heard it too many times to ignore it
It’s something that I’m s’posed to be…
Someday we’ll find it, the rainbow connection,
The lovers, the dreamers, and me.
Laa, da daa dee da daa daa,
La laa la la laa dee daa doo…
**sigh**…I’m going to have to rent The Muppet Movie now.

Independence Day and Riots…

Well, the Super Bowl is over, and considering what report you hear, a couple of Raiders fans set a tire on fire or the entire city is in flames and there is wide-spread looting going on, threatening to spill over into San Francisco and surrounding cities. **sigh** I love the news media sometimes.
Watched ID4, which go a couple of thoughts running through my head. The first is about disaster films, esp. ID4 and Armageddon, one of the big appeal or hooks is the destruction of the major cities. Now after 9/11, are we going to see any of these movies anymore. If I remember correctly, in The Sum of All Fears, a nuke got launched or exploded somehow (I’ve read Tom Clancy, but not this book); however, I’m sure this movie was in production before 9/11. Just a wandering thought that went through my head.
The second was while I was watching, I wondered if there was an online quiz for this movie; like What Male Character from ID4 are you? Of course, I wondered which character I would be. I’ve been told that I have some looks, so I could be Will Smith/Captain Steve Hiller, the handsome Air Force pilot. It def. wouldn’t be Bill Pullman/President Thomas Whitmore, former Gulf War hero who learns all about the aliens after an mind probe. I was thinking I would probably fit more with Jeff Goldblum/David Levinson, the gifted, yet un ambitious cable technician, who is floating through the world, until he finds a purpose in life on the eve of the extinction of the human race. Or what about Brent Spiner/Dr. Brackish Okun, the eccentric scientist locked up in Area 51, who meet an untimely death. Hopefully, I’m not James Rebhorn/Sec. of Defense Albert Nimziki, the sniveling kiss ass out to save his career. O. K., time to face reality, I would be Randy Quaid/Russell Casse, former ace pilot in Vietnam, who has fallen from grace and is now an alcoholic after an alleged alien abduction 10 years ago. Hmmm, too bad I’m too poor to be an alcoholic.
Anyway, some quotes from the movie (God I love IMDB)
[After the aliens have attacked]
Older Boy: [to his girlfriend] This may be our last night on earth. You don’t want to die a virgin, do you?
Albert Nimzicki: I’m not Jewish.
Julius Levinson: Well, nobody’s perfect.
[The President wonders where Area 51’s funding came from]
Julius Levinson: You didn’t think they actually spent ten thousand dollars for a hammer and thirty thousand for a toilet seat, did you?
[Connie left David to pursue a career]
Constance: Haven’t you ever wanted to be part of something special?
David Levinson: I was part of something special
I can relate to the last quote…

My one taste has turned

My one taste has turned from a satisfying fulfillment to a slowly growing hunger gnawing at me, longing for more.
Once again my heart is in pain and my mind in confused anguish, a multitude of thoughts flying in my head.
Luckily, there is Chocolate Cheesecake to sooth the pain and to calm the thoughts.
Well, some of the pain anyway.

**sigh** I thought that the game would be better than this.
Tomorrow will be hell. Not just because it is the 1st day of the semester and all.
Tim is a 49’er fan and HATES the Raiders. Mark is a Raiders’ fan. I won’t be able to stop the kids from teasing Mark tomorrow. Luckly, I should be able to keep them busy enough and off of Mark’s back so it won’t be too bad.
I don’t even want to know how much Mark had riding on this game

**yawn** Had some weird and interesting dreams last night. Not sure if I remember all of them though. I know one of them was a sexual one and that I had a good time.
DreamHost is mostly back up again. I tried to make a database for Moveable Type and got an error message, so I’m figuring that they are still doing a few things. Still, my site is seems to be working. I had a few ideas for some changes to the site; think I want to do a Chinese New Year theme since that is coming up next week. Going to have to scour the books and the web for some graphics though.
Also am thinking of unplugging the fans in my computer in an attempt to quiet the damn thing. It’s not over clocked or anything, so I shouldn’t have to worry too much about cooling (that’s the theory going around in my head). Semi-worried that I will somehow fry my motherboard by doing that; However if I did, that would be the perfect opportunity to go and apply for a BestBuy or CompUSA card.
O. K., need to go and scrounge up some food.

The Royal Tenenbaums was an excellent movie. I love everybody in this movie, everybody. Even Ben Stiller, he’s not one of my top actors, but I love him in this movie (and in Zoolander).
Afterwards, messed around with Moveable Type. I tried to set it up on my hard drive, however unsuccessful doing that. Will just have to wait until DreamHost move the servers and I can get back online. I also will be getting mail late, if anybody sends me some.
Watched Buffy; every time that I see Tara, I think of Stephanie LaForge. I need to e-mail her too. Also had some Godiva Choc. Cheesecake Ice Cream. Yummy. Hmmm. I guess I should check my lottery ticket. Except they never have the results up until days later. Guess I’ll do it tomorrow.
I should just goto sleep. There really isn’t anything for me to do. But I think I’ll just stay up awhile longer…..and wish….and dream….

Dropped Mike off at Oakland

Dropped Mike off at Oakland Airport.
It’s so weird driving over the Bay Bridge, or anywhere for that matter since I just drive to work and back in the company van.
There was a break in the storm that is my life.
It had it awkward moments, but I am glad it happened.
Nothing like the taste of sunshine on your lips, even if only for a brief second.
**sigh**
BTW, they built a Circuit City in Antioch, go figure.
And I took a detour on the way home and reaffirmed my love for San Francisco, I just wish I had my camera so that I can share.
Now I am home. Tonight, think that I will watch my new DVD, The Royal Tenenbaums, and just relish in the memory of the break in the storm.
I wish that the storm was over, but like I said, I can wait.
