Cleaning out the computer…

and am finding tons of old stuff that was from the Moveable Type journal, Livejournal, and Blurty.  Probably a side project to repost the old stuff into this blog.  We’ll see.  At least this is keeping me preoccupied and not shopping for a new TV.

A Different Kind Of Test

Testing the Blog Post option with Word 2010. You know, just in case I need to post something with Word 2010 instead of using Live Writer.

I should be reading a book or something

So Internet is down right now, for me anyway. Thank goodness for iPhones and faux 4G speeds from AT&T to get me through my Internet withdrawal. No if only I could play World if Warcraft or Diablo III on my phone…

Anyway I somehow messed up my TV so now I have a reason to look for a new TV to buy for Xmas. All I wanted to see is if I could use HDMI to hook up my computer to the TV. I can, but now the reception on the HDMI, PC, and TV sources are flickering. It's what I get for messing with stuff that didn't need messing with. In the other hand, new TV for me, hee hee.

I should goto bed early anyway, since I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning. Getting a physical, checking out the knees, and asking about sleep apnea. I'm still in denial about the snoring, I think that I just breathe a little loud. We'll see.

Can't wait for movember to be over. The little that I have to shave off is driving me crazy.

Next computer project is to get my music collection organized…again. When I reloaded my music, I lost all of the ratings and the genres are all messed up. Going to try and get OCD on all 145gb of music.

Ok enough mindless banter, I should start reading the books that I got this last weekend. Need to learn how to get a new job.

Overall a pretty good day

Currently working on backing up my computer and looking at Cyber Monday Ads trying to find a TV to buy.  I'm hoping that 500GB is enough to backup everything since 300GB wasn't.  The fact that I'm creating a weekly backup is amazing in itself.  I'll bring the 300GB up to the parents at Xmas time and put it in their machine and upgrade it to Windows 7; the current machine is running XP on a 30GB hard drive.  At least it has 2GB RAM.  That'll leave me with trying to sell a 120GB hard drive on Craigslist.  Maybe I'll give Dad the 120GB instead and sell the 300GB.  They are both so small (…that's what she said…) and with hard drvie prices what they are today, I'll be lucky to get 10-20 dollars for them.

Also looking for a 40" TV to replace the 32" that I have now.  Went to Fry's and wasn't impressed with their prices.  They have cheap TV's but I refuse to buy anything with COBY stamped on it.  There was also a brand called TCL, but I haven't heard anythng about them.  What I want is a Samsung TV with a PC input, but haven't found one yet.  I guess I could connect with HDMI.  Just need to keep looking.

Go a bunch of clothes that I can just throw on for those days that I'm late for work.  I have a feeling that tomorrow will be one of those days.  We'll see just how many pieces I'll keep and what gets returnred back to Macy's

Did I mention that I'm not looking forward to work tomorrow?

At the airport waiting to return to the Bay Area

Not sure if I am ready to go back or not. Just have to tough it out for a month before I'm back up here for Xmas.

Insomia – 1; Theraflu nighttime medicine – 0

I thought that the Theraflu would knock me out so that I would have at least one night of sleep before I fly back.

Note to self, need to fix and add pictures to the Pictures section.

More random thoughts and testing

Went out shopping today and bought nothing.  I used to be good at this shopping thing, but now I got nothing except for paid off cards and empty bags.  The main issue is my weight and not finding anything that can really fit me.  Or maybe I'm just too picky about what I want to wear.

Eric and Cynthia are out on a date to see the last Twilight movie.  I humbly declined to go and see it with them, having read the first book and watch some of the first movie.

Other Thoughts:

Why do I buy jewelry for women I like?  They never wear what I buy.  I must be a bad gift giver.  Xmas is here, so this is a good thing to realize, yes?

Maybe I should get rid of all my clothes and start all over again?  I'm good at starting over again, just not good at finishing the starting over part.  I am getting older and maybe it is time for me to start wearing stuff more appropriate to my age.

My Xmas present that I want Eric to get for me is small.  Lets take bets on if I will loose it within the first two weeks of having it.  Lets take bets on if it will be enough to get me to the gym again.

Movember sucks.  It's for a great cause and I've donated, but this no-shaving thing is getting more annoying day by day.  It doesn't help that my beard is patchy and not rugged look that I was hoping for.  Def. not enough to hide the fat in my face.

I like the webcam that I got my Dad for his computer last Xmas.  Maybe it's time for me to get one also so we can Skype with each other.  Then I can Skype with other people too.

Depression is mostly gone after a week of being up here.  However, I've had nothing to replace it with, so there is just an empty spot in my soul currently.  Will have to goto the hospital and get some new drugs to fill the hole up with.

Maybe I'll brave the crowds on Sunday and go to Union Square to go shopping.  I def. need to stop by the Castro and see if Ken's bookstore has a book that I want: 642 Things to Write Journal.  Hopefully, it will have some good ideas for me to blog about since I can't/won't blog about the stuff that is in my head right now.

O.K., lets test this out and see if it will post to my blog and to Facebook.
