November 2008 Archives

or at least a vacation from the greyhound trip.

My back, my throat, and my head are all killing me at the moment.

But at least I am home in bed where I can recoop.

Never again greyhound, never again

vacation: still in Oregon

|
I wonder if I will ever get out of this state... And I am sick and tired of Strawberry cough drops

vacation, the journey home

|
Everytime I drive thru Oregon, it's either grey and overcast, raining (usually cats/dogs), or foggy as hell. This time, it's foggy as hell. Greyhound trip so far is awful as usual. I had to change busses because of the loud, drunk woman in front of me. This new bus is much better. I just hope that the driver-iin-training that Greyhound drafted into service at the last minute can get us to where we have to go.

a thought

|
As I lay here waiting to goto sleep, I wonder why am I going back to SF. What has the city given to me, esp. in the last year...besides beautiul views. I feel so much stronger and healed being here, even though I still worry about the future. And although I'm not ready to move back home with my parents, Portland becomes more and more attractive as a happy medium for alot of my problem and I wonder more what is keeping me in SF.
  • Thanksgiving was wonderfully low key and stress free, esp. since I didn't have to cook a turkey.  Prime Rib Dinner was just as good.
  • Will the Detroit Lions ever have a winning season?
  • Got alot of work done thanks to my brother's Mac book that he got.  Am organized a bit more now and ready to try to get some order to my clothing department.
  • I've had a shitload of weird dreams this week, most of them World of Warcraft related, but there are some others that I should have written down and analyzed.  I know that my dad has a dream book around here somewhere.
  • Caught up on my movies, has usual.  Juno was fun and entertaining.  Sweeney Todd wasn't that good.  Fantastic Four/Silver Surfer really sucked.  And James Bond/Casino Royal was pretty good.
  • Played with my brother's Google phone aka the G1.  Not too impressed.  I think he is getting less impressed with it too.
  • Battlestar Galactica in January!  WOOHOO!!!!  Sons of Anarchy Finale was great; can't wait for season two.  Finished getting caught up with Sunny in Philidelphia, kind of a mixed season; glad I just Tivo'd it.  Most interesting show that I didn't watch was something on Skinemax called Alien Sex something 3.  Me and my brother were cracking up at the description of the show.  Me and my brother were cracking up at the description of the show, but for the life of me I can't find it in the TV Guide.
  • Still didn't talk to the parents aboutimportant issues, like can they pay their bills and how healthy are they.  Did decide to get my dad off of whatever 2nd rate cell service he is on and just put him on my plan.  He also has this magicJack thing that I need to look into.
  • Did not do any Black Friday shopping.
  • Had a nagging cough this week.  I'm hoping it's something that I caught on Greyhound, but suspect it's from my Mom's and brother's smoking.
  • Mom got rid of all the dogs except for Elvis, the one that LOVES my dad.
  • Thinking about buying them either a flat-screen TV or a new kitchen sink for Xmas.  Need to price it out and see if my brother wants to go in on it.  They don't really need a flat screen since they don't watch HD stuff or would know the difference.  Would rather get the sink if it doesn't cost too much.  Credit should still be good enough to get a C.C. if I need to.
  • Dreading the trip back to S.F. tomorrow on Greyhound.  Really dreading the 3 hour layover in Sacramento and the 20 ride to get there.  Need to make sure to get cough drops and some IcyHot pads for my back.
  • Kinda glad I started this blog up again.  Here's to hoping that it will help me out somehow.

Vacation...

Mom and Dad are driving each other crazy, which means that things are well in the house.

Have I ever been sick while on vacation here?  Luckily, I'm not as sick has I was a few weeks ago.

Been having weird dreams at night, partly World of Warcraft influenced.

Otherwise, just catching up on reading, movies on TV, staring out of the window into the green forests, and of course, Korean Soap Operas and Variety Shows.

And worried about the parents, always worried about the parents.

Vacation: Day 2

|
I did nothing. I woke up late, had mom feed me, caught up on my Sons of Anarchy, slept some more, ate some more, and watched more tv. Pretty boring day, but isn't that what a vacation is suppose to be about

At my parents house in Seattle...

  • Finally make off of the Greyhound bus after 22 hours.  My lower back is not going to let me forget this trip for a long time...
  • Def. buying plane tickets when I come up here next month for Xmas...
  • Brother traded his small Mazda hatchback for a HUGE SIlverado.  Like 7-8 Feet tall Silverado.  Thank God that gas prices are down...
  • Speaking of gas prices, I saw gas being sold for $1.98 on the way up here.  I wonder if I could just fill my suitcase with just gas....
  • Thank God that Dad doesn't clean his computer and that the password for my blog is still saved on it.  Now I can actually make some visual changes to my blog.
  • Also thank God for Mom's Korean cooking and not having to cook a turkey this Thanksgiving.
  • Apparently, the McRib is back at McDonald's.  And Burger King sells something called Fry Sauce that I will have to try before I leave.
  • After the half day to recover from the trip, I have gotten alot done. with all the work that I brought up.  I wish I was this productive at home
  • Oddly enough, my parents have even more channels on their DishTV and there is still nothing to watch on TV.  O.K., I did watch a few mins of Skinemax.  Hey, if I see a pair of naked tits on TV, I'm going to stop and look at least for a second or two.
  • Amazingly enough, I am not having World of Warcraft jitters and am ready to goto sleep.
  • Once I finish my work tomorrow, maybe I'll start playing with the site.  It been a long time, but I think I am ready to try this thing again.

note to self....

Not Sure Where I Got This From

1. What are you really thinking about today? - “As you think, so shall you become.”
2. Simplify. - “It’s not the daily increase but daily decrease. Hack away at the unessential.” and “If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you’ll never get it done.”
3. Learn about yourself in interactions. - “To know oneself is to study oneself in action with another person.”
4. Do not divide. - “Take no thought of who is right or wrong or who is better than. Be not for or against.”
5. Avoid a dependency on validation from others. - “I’m not in this world to live up to your expectations and you’re not in this world to live up to mine.” and “Showing off is the fool’s idea of glory.”
6. Be proactive. - “To hell with circumstances; I create opportunities.”
7. Be you. - “Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it.”
