Monthly Archives: January 2005

even though the sun is shining…

the rain keeps falling on my head. the paychecks at work have been delayed until Monday. Not everybody’s paycheck, just those of us who have direct deposit.
It’s not that I need my check. I can wait until Monday to pay rent. It’s just that I really wanted to go out for dinner tonight or this weekend. I wanted to finally buy World of Warcraft. I wanted to have more than .44 in my bank account.
Blah. And I smell too.

rain falling

Like the rain falling outside, so have my tears fallen.
Sometimes, just a gentle flow, with one or two tears falling down my face
Sometimes just a hard stream of water coming out of my eyes and pouring over my face.
I don’t think that the pain will truely ever end.

sore throat tea…

Just for the record, Celestial Seasonings Throat Soothers Tea tastes like shit. Licorice root, honey, and lemon does not mix well. And I don’t thing it is really helping my sore throat.
The good thing about having this cough/sore throat is that I have a Quincy Jones voice going on that sounds a bit sexier than my usual voice. But I think that I am ready for the cough and the sore throat to go away.
I was suppose to clean my room tonight. **yawn** maybe tomorrow night.
I read an article today at SFGate.com about people who got fired for writing about their work in their blogs. It makes me wonder if I should take out my archived entries and either hide/delete entries about work. I don’t think that anybody at work reads my journals. And I don’t think that I’ve said anything that would get me fired. Something to think about I guess.
Speaking on censuring journals, why are we embaressed to talk about signifigant others in our journals. There are some things that we are willing to share in our journals. However, most everyday stuff we usually feel embarres to share, because we feel that we will bore our audiance with details on how we spent the day with our boyfriend/girlfriend. I guess we don’t have to tell the entire world about how our bf/gf came over and we had a wonderful makeout/love making/fuck session. And then there are some things that are so special, that you don’t want to share with anyone, that you want to keep for yourself. Like a special little toy that you take out and enjoy by yourself. I have lots of those locked up in my head.
I need to goto bed. I have a long day tomorrow…actually, a long week.

Trying to heal

Spent the week still recovering from the sickness of last week. Right now, I’m getting over an extremely sore throat and annoying cough.
Spring semester starts in a week and I am still behind at work. This semester, it just seems that I will never catch up. There’s more bad news at work for me, but I’m not ready to talk about it yet.
Did my taxes online this weekend and am only getting $60 back. For reasons I don’t understand, I didn’t pay as much interest on my student loans compared to last year. Not good since I was planning on using the money to help with my move. Now, I might have to wait a couple of months later to move out.
Went to Amber’s improv show on Saturday and had a pleasant time. Just wish that I was feeling better so that I could hang out with her afterwards.
Bought the game Farcry on some kind of impulse. Don’t really know why I did it. The game is O.K.; it’s def. a pretty looking game. However, I feel that I paid too much for it. Like I should have waited for the price to be under $20 or something.
I updated stuff on the site. I was planning on switching to Wordpad, and I’m still thinking about it. I just need to backup all of my entries and work on a new site design. I probably won’t get around to it until after rush is over at school.

**cough**

I’m still around, just haven’t felt like updating since I’ve have to deal with the flu, and now with a nagging cough. Just business as usual in January for me. I think that I always get sick around this time. I know I was sick like this last year. Don’t remember the year before that…(**note** yes, the year before that I was also fighting with a cold)
Anyway, I’ve been planning on switching over from Moveable Type to WordPad, mainly because all the cool people are doing it. However, I’m not in any real rush to do it since I don’t really have a reason to do so. Even with the news that SixApart just bought out LiveJournal. The main thing that I really want to do is to figure out a way to update all of my journals at one time. I guess I want to update my site too; if nothing else put up some brighter colors.
Getting ready for the new school semester to start at work. So I’ll be super busy for the next couple of weeks, staying late at work trying to get caught up with everything. Fun.
Told Barbara that I was planning on moving out in March or April. I’m mainly waiting for my tax return so I’ll have money for the deposit on a new place. I would like to get either a studio/1 bdr on my own or maybe an in-law. However, I will settle on renting a room as long as the place I move into has central heating so I’m not freezing off my ass again. I think that counts out alot of the houses here in Linda Mar (mainly old 3 bdr/1 bath ranchers). Just doing some casual browsing on Craigslist show that if nothing else, I should be able to find something like what I am in now for $550 or less, which I would still be saving money.
Thanks to April, I’ve been playing Zuma Deluxe and kicking ass. Also the fact that World of Warcraft is sold out everywhere, even at the Apple stores. I guess it’s good, since I’m saving money.
I still need to goto the dentist and work on my resume this month. I will get around to it this month….eventually.
Also should call Kaiser and make an appointment to get a new psychologist, since it’ll take awhile before they’ll be able to fit me into someone’s schedule.
That’s all I’ve been doing. Just chillin, trying to get well, paying the bills, yadda yadda yadda.

Old Computer Stuff

Yep, that’s a 28.8 modem. A true speed demon back in the 90’s. It was def. faster than the 14.4 modem that was in the AST P60. P60 as in Pentium 60.

Some of the games that I was playing. The Bard’s Tale 1&2, Ultima VII, Dragon Wars, Eye Of The Beholder, and Sentinel Worlds Vol.1. Some classic role playing games there. The Bard’s Tale was a great game and the 2nd one was even better. Eye Of The Beholder was the start of a classic series. Dragon Wars and Sentinel Worlds were both great games. And Ultima VII was one of the greatest games ever. I think The Bard’s Tale was on on or 2 disks, Eye of the Beholder was on 2 disks also. But Ultima 7 took 6-7 disks total to install. **sigh** They don’t make games like those anymore.
