Friday Five for December 12, 2003

1. Do you enjoy the cold weather and snow for the holidays? I honestly can’t remember the last time that there was snow for the holidays. Living in California is usually not the best place for a Christmas with snow. And when I’ve visit the family in Washington, it is usually raining and not snowing. The closest it got was some front on the ground, but not real snow. I would have to say that it would have to have been in Korea that I had a White Christmas; that would have been at least 15 years ago. But to answer the question, I would have to say that I only enjoy cold weather if there is snow falling and on the ground to distract me, otherwise it is just cold and I am miserable.

**note** I guess I did see snow last year, but that was on the road trip fom hell.

2. What is your ideal holiday celebration? How, where, with whom would you celebrate to make things perfect? I wish that I could be with Suzanne and her family, or with any of my friends. I just think that I would have more fun that way. Which is not to say that I don’t want to be with my family; I just know that our Christmas will be a more subdued affair.

3. Do you do have any holiday traditions? Not anymore. Before, we use to decorate the house, open one present at midnight, put the Christmas tablecloth out on the dining room table and have a nice dinner. Nowadays, me and my family can’t even be bothered with setting up a Christmas tree or even
getting presents for each other. I mean, we supposedly made this pact not to get presents for anybody, but we are all going to break it anyway (well at least I am.) Yeah, it’s really sad, but that’s just the way it is I guess.

4. Do you do anything to help the needy? No

5. What one gift would you like for yourself? A chance to reclaim a love that was lost and to rebuild it into something that is well built, stronger than before, and would last a 1000 lifetimes.
