See, right about now, I

See, right about now, I should be going to sleep, since I have been staying up late all week long and I have to wake up tomorrow and do the whole moving thing.
But of course I’m not going to sleep. I’m going to stay up all night long, you just wait and see.

Mike’s Mom, Part 2

Mike’s Mom just called; she is coming up for a visit in April.
I wonder if she can come the same time when my parents come, so that Mike and I can be stressed out at the same time.

Friday Five for 2/21/03

1. What is your most prized material possession? O. K., I have several. There is a pendant with a bull in the center of a sunburst, which is my zodiac sign (Taurus). I also have two airplane pins of a F-16 & a F-20 that my friend, Dan, gave me when I moved from San Leandro to Vacaville (They were his dad’s and they meant alot). I have three drawings from Suzanne that she hates, but I loved them (unfortunately, I promised that I would never hang them up again). And then there is the memory box from The Bombay company, that contains all of the letters, tapes, and other evidence of the relationship between April and I. The memory box is safetly up at my parents house, where Suzanne’s drawings and other things (like the bible that she gave me) will be mailed too sometime soon.
2. What item, that you currently own, have you had the longest? I have a Taegu American School hooded sweatshirt that I have had for at least 15 years now. The scary thing is that it still fits me somewhat. The sleeves are a little short, but not by much. Actually, I also have something that I got from my dad. I guess it’s some kind of star plotter, where you can plot to see where the stars are at in the sky. But I’m not really too sure. The thing that I really wanted was these two chinese medicine cabinets that my mom had. I was suppose to take them when my parents moved. However, the husband of one of her friends took them and wouldn’t hand them over. I was pretty pissed about it, cause I had really wanted them.
3. Are you a packrat? Yes, I am. Actually, I have reformed myself somewhat. Mainly just because it wasn’t practical to be a packrat in college when I was moving every semester to another room. I have some stuff here; the rest is at my parents house. That stuff includes all of my book collection of books, about 5-6 boxes, and memorabilia from high school.
4. Do you prefer a spic-and-span clean house? Or is some clutter necessary to avoid the appearance of a museum? I’m not as anal with the cleaning as my mom. And since moving out the house and esp being with Suzanne, I have somewhat let myself go. however, for the most part, I tend to keep the rest of the house clean. My room, I’ll let get a little cluttered, but end up cleaning it on the weekends. Unless I’m depressed, and then I just let everything go to hell.
5. Do the rooms in your house have a theme? Or is it a mixture of knick-knacks here and there? Not really. When I was living in the dorms, I restarted something that I had done in my house in Vacaville, which was to take pictures and photos from Rolling Stone Magazine and put them on the ceiling. However, since I have left school, I’ve been pretty simplistic in my decorating style. I still have the Rolling Stone pictures, in case one day I want to do something like that again.

Try $187 round trip from San Francisco to London on British Airways. Or round trip from Washington, D.C. to Paris for $212 on Lufthansa. How about New York to Munich for $178 on Northwest Airlines and US Air? According to the Travel Industry Association, airfares are the lowest they’ve been since 1988.
God, I wish I had the money. Yeah, we might be going to war and stuff, but screw it, I think that I would take my chances.

The 29th birthday that is slowly coming up is nagging at me a bit…
Actually, I think that it might be the 30th birthday that’s pushing the 29th birthday to nag me.

Mind Trip

Still thinking about the drive up to Vacaville to give April back her purse that she left in my car. Usually I hate the radio, same songs over and over and over again; for that I thank the clone factory called Clear Channel that owns practically every radio station in the bay.
Still, with the exception of Counting Crows remake of Joni Mitchell Big Yellow Taxi…**going on a different tangent** why must everybody remake this song. Personally, I don’t like the song, and it seems that if you are a serious band/singer/songwriter, you have to cover this song at some point in your career. Anyways, what do I know.
So has I was saying, there was this point where it was just really good music flowing on the radio. Then a commercial popped up I would just change to the next preset, and the music just flowed. At one point, it was nothing but Led Zeppelin; it was Black Dog, Good Times Bad Times, Ramble On, Tangerine, and Kashmir. It was fucking great.
Unfortunately the music on the ride back wasn’t as good, so I put Dave Matthews in and had a vision for Proudest Monkey. It was so vivid while I was driving, but it’s hard to remember now. It was a mixed of muppets and Cirque Du Soleil; the only problem is that I was having trouble imagining all of the band as muppets, esp Dave. (Some reason he came off as a bald muppet with eye brows, no eyes.) The best part of course was at the end when the music picks up and the whistles come in and stuff. In my mind, muppet animals were dancing and flying all over the place along with acrobats from Cirque Du Soleil. And then at the end when the music quiets, it was just these two baby muppet monkeys playing with each other.
Now even if I could somehow make this happen, I could never show it on MTV since the song is what 7-10 min long. But still, the view looked great in my head.
